food fiction (based on a true story)


belaated entry to this contest.

it’s a pebble. it’s a rock. it’s a homemade idli.


soak 1 cup of urad dal
and 2 cups of idli rice overnight.
grind separately in mixie in the morning.
hand mix the two batters together.
let the batter ferment.
add salt.

serve these solid boulders to husband in the evening.

for self and kiddies head to Saravana Bhavan.

    Abha: With you about the Darshini’s. And I think they kick S.Bhavan’s idlis to chutney any day. 🙂
